I'm Paul Roberts, a professional comedy magician, and I've been fortunate enough to perform at this incredible venue since its early days. It's a special place for me, combining great entertainment, a welcoming atmosphere, delicious food and drink, and a shared love of all things magical.

In this article, I'll give you a little insight into my own comedy magic show, introduce you to some of the other talented performers, and explain what makes The Magic Bar Live such a brilliant place to spend an evening.

Laughs and Wonder – An Evening of Comedy Magic

One of the shows I've particularly enjoyed developing with Chris Williams is Laughs and Wonder, which has continued to evolve with new routines and ideas.

It's been a real labour of love, and we're proud of what we've created together. The aim is simple: to give audiences an entertaining evening packed with amazing magic, comedy and plenty of surprises.

Chris opens the show with his own 45-minute performance, combining sleight of hand, mentalism, juggling and comedy.

There's a lovely atmosphere as guests arrive, enjoy their food and drinks, and settle in for the entertainment. The venue also offers table service during shows, so you can relax and enjoy the performance.

After a short interval, it's my turn to take to the stage!

Paul Roberts – Comedy Magic, Audience Participation and a Few Surprises

My show combines comedy, magic, music and audience participation. Expect mind-boggling mentalism, levitation, magic using borrowed objects and some rather unusual visual gags.

And yes, there's even a little body popping thrown into the mix! Don't ask – you'll have to see it for yourself.

I love getting the audience involved. Every performance has its own character because people react differently, and those unexpected moments are often what make live entertainment so special.

The show builds towards a big finale, bringing the audience together for a memorable ending. I won't spoil the surprise, but let's just say that it's a lot of fun!

For me, the best part of performing is seeing people laugh, gasp in amazement and become part of the experience. I've always believed that magic should create memories, not simply demonstrate a clever trick.

One of the most heartwarming things about performing at The Magic Bar Live is seeing familiar faces return. A huge thank you to Barry and Gina, who have visited the venue and enjoyed our show and the other entertainment there more than 100 times!

After performances, Chris and I enjoy coming out to meet guests and hear what they thought of the show. That personal connection is a big part of what makes the experience so rewarding.

Craig and his team, employ many magicians and will only use the best of the best, so to have a glowing review from him, made everyones day, week, month and year!!

He also releases incredible products, online courses and reviews Magic Tricks, offered by talented Magicians from all over the planet.

Craig and and his wife Sarah, along with their two children Thea and Ryland came on holiday to Llandudno, and ended up coming to the Magic Bar every evening!!

Jay Gatling

Jay Gatling is a highly accomplished magician whose performances combine close-up magic, mentalism and stage magic. He's also a fellow member of the North Wales Magic Circle and has won awards for his work.

His polished performances and friendly personality make him a fantastic entertainer. If you get the opportunity to see his show, I can highly recommend him.

Close-Up Magic

Some evenings offer a different experience, with the magic coming directly to your table.

Close-up magic is a wonderful way to experience the impossible right in front of your eyes. You might see cards change, borrowed objects behave in extraordinary ways, or effects happen so close that you can't quite believe what you've witnessed.

Talented performers associated with the North Wales Magic Circle, along with visiting magicians, help make these evenings particularly memorable.

Oliver Bell and Visiting Performers

The programme can also include visiting stage performers and comedy magic from Oliver Bell, who has developed his own distinctive style.

His show Unfiltered Magic is aimed at a more mature audience, so it's worth checking the age guidance before booking.

Alongside the magic shows, the venue hosts a variety of other events, which may include live music, film nights, quizzes, workshops and special seasonal entertainment.
